Day Spas L.A.

08/25/2006 by azspagirl

Yes, yes, we know…we’re the Arizona SpaGirls. But with Los Angeles just a road trip away, a weekend of celebrity spotting and haute shopping might just be in your future. We checked in with our L.A. counterpart Erin Mahoney, creator of Chill Out L.A., The Los Angeles Day Spa Guide and author of “Walking L.A.” for places to treat yourself in the footsteps of the rich, famous and overly coiffed.

Brentwood Retreat
250 26th Street
Santa Monica
(310) 395-8787
Courtney Thorne-Smith, Dennis Quaid and Allison Janney are regular clients at this Asian-inspired respite. If you go, try the Super Anti-Oxidant Firming Facial or drop a few inches with a Swedish Miracle Wrap & Alpha Session.

Fresh
189 The Grove Dr.
Los Angeles
(323) 932-2580
“I personally saw Halle Berry here buying two huge bags of products and chatting pleasantly with the woman at the checkout counter,” says Mahoney of this bustling beauty stop. Experience Fresh in the upstairs “espace,” where hour-long skin and body treatments start at $125.

Enessa Wellness Spa
8012 1/2 Melrose Ave.
Los Angeles
(323) 655-5950
Certified aromatherapist and owner Michelle Ornstein has attracted hoards of celebrity followers from Cher to Jennifer Aniston. Voted the best place in L.A. for threading (a hair removal technique), Enessa also offers a signature line of all-natural skin and body products. “I use them too, they’re amazing,” says Mahoney.

Pampered People
11745 Hortense Street
Valley Village
(818) 766-7836
Beverly Johnson, Ming Na and Cheryl Tiegs are among the pampered people who have graced the cobblestone walk that leads to this unassuming boutique retreat. Try a “person centered massage” with Tracy, who fuses therapy styles for a custom experience.

Gabi Meise SkinStudios
West Hollywood
(310) 652-GABI
“Gabi’s studio is a wonderfully private oasis,” says Mahoney. Aesthetician and owner Gabriela Meise doesn’t treat and tell but suffice it to say that the entertainment community wouldn’t look as fabulous without her. Facials with Gabi start at $125 and vary in duration depending on the client’s needs.

More Los Angeles Day Spas

Argyle Salon & Spa
Once home to Golden Age Hollywood heavy-hitters like Frank Sinatra and Howard Hughes, the newly renovated Sunset Tower Hotel has made its final play for the best in glamour with the unveiling of Argyle Salon & Spa. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Melanie Griffith are among the cast of new Hollywood to anoint the halls of this newly constructed 6,600-square-foot spa, full-service salon and med-spa.

Amadeus Spa
Chosen as one of L.A.’s best spas by The Los Angeles Times and L.A. Magazine, Amadeus Spa is an elegant and relaxing retreat. Try one of their Spa Duos where they pair two of their most popular services.

Bella Visage
French for “beautiful face,” Bella Visage is an elegant retreat with warm and inviting decor enhanced with touches of French accents. Bella Visage offers everything from relaxing massage to innovative skincare techniques.

Body Therapy Center
Before you hit the beach, stop by The Body Therapy Center for a PR Cell Anti-Cellulite Treatment, a new method for smoothing and toning skin. The spa is just minutes from the ocean.

Kinara Spa
While they offer a full range of spa treatments, Kinara Spa is known for their high quality skincare facials and product line. Try the Kinara Custom Facial where the technician will guide you through an amazing journey of skin discovery.

Le Petite Retreat
Located in a quaint suburb of L.A., La Petite Retreat offers a charming and tranquil sanctuary. For a massage to remember, try the Tree of Mauritius Massage, a deep tissue rub that gets to the root of your muscle aches.

Ole Henriksen
For star-quality “Complexion Care,” a treatment at Ole Henriksen is a must. After your treatment, be sure to stop at the boutique were you’ll find the full line of Ole Henriksen’s much-loved skincare products.

Thibiant Beverly Hills Day Spa
First opened in 1973, Thibiant Beverly Hills Day Spa has recently undergone a total decor makeover. But the philosophy behind making its clients feel their best has not changed. Allow yourself plenty of time before your treatment to try the multi-jet deluge shower and a relaxing steam.

Yuki Sharoni Beauty & Lifestyle
Located on Santa Monica Boulevard, Yuki Sharoni is a hip hair salon and spa where the decor combines tranquil Eastern influences with ultramodern accents. Try their most popular service, the one-hour Aromatherapy Facial.
