Calling All Girlfriends! Damsels in De-Stress Returns to Prescott, AZ

Let’s take a look into the not-so-distant future. Say July … when it’s so ridiculously hot here in metro Phoenix that you could cook up an entire homestyle breakfast on the sidewalk. That’s when it’s truly time to escape the Valley for cooler pastures. And we happen to know of one worthy of dusting off that overnight bag and dragging out your cutest PJs.

Mark your calendars for a weekend full of fun and empowerment on Saturday and Sunday, July 24-25. Back by popular demand for its third year, Damsels in De-Stress is a weekend of freedom and self-discovery among the cool pines of Prescott, Arizona. This all-inclusive mini vacation kicks off Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and continues on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The $199 registration fee covers all classes, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday, a cocktail party, gift bag, shopping and entertainment. Day activities include a schedule packed full of classes that cover beauty, fitness, gardening, stress management, self defense, spiritual discover and more. Special guests include motivational speaker Pamela Kelly and comedian¬†Sharon Lacey. Oh, and yours truly (that’s me) will be there to spill more exciting girlfriend adventures from The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Girlfriend Getaways in a “Spa Trips and Tips” class.

Best part (besides no responsibilities for a few days!) is that the proceeds from the weekend benefit Trauma Intervention Programs of Arizona, an organization dedicated to providing support for emotionally traumatized persons following a crisis event. With an opportunity to escape the heat and bond with your best girls while giving back–getting away never felt so good.
